A graduate of Colon High School in the class of 1947, Rose’s life was rooted in the values and connections she built from an early age in her hometown. That same year, on June 6, 1947, she married Richard D. Jackson, beginning a devoted partnership that became the foundation of her family and many of her life’s adventures.

Rose was a dedicated employee of the Kirsch Company for over thirty years, where she worked in Human Resources, specializing in Pensions and Retirement Benefits. Her tenure is remembered for unwavering diligence, a strong sense of fairness, and the supportive guidance she offered to colleagues preparing for the next chapters of their lives.

Her passion for teaching and sharing her talents extended into the broader community. Rose devoted years to the 4-H organization as a knitting instructor and also taught ceramics, instilling a love of creativity and craftsmanship in generations of students. She further contributed by teaching square dancing in Matteson Township and Findley, bringing people together in the spirit of camaraderie and joyful movement.

Rose’s involvement didn’t end there. Alongside her husband Richard, she served as a charter boat first mate, reflecting an adventurous and communal spirit that brought yet another dimension to her life’s work. Beyond her professional pursuits, Rose was an active member of the Glenn United Methodist Church, where her faith and commitment to service were evident to all who knew her.

Family meant everything to Rose. She is survived by her children, Gregory (Monica Moore) Jackson and Marcea Jackson; her grandchildren, Randy, Kelli, and Hope; and great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Thomas, Wyatt, Kennedy, Rennie, and Rayla. She will be warmly remembered for the deep and nurturing relationships she maintained with each member of her family.

Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Jackson; her siblings, Blanche Wood, Betty Warlick, Richard McKercher, Bruce McKercher, Marge Adams, and Peg Brown; and her parents, Raymond and Evelyn McKercher.

Fond memories of Rose’s renowned sticky buns and rum cakes are cherished among those who gathered in her kitchen and at her table. These culinary treats symbolized her warmth and generosity, leaving a lasting impression on family and friends alike.
