Roger L. Carpenter, age 72, of LaGrange, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at The Waters of LaGrange.

Roger was born on February 5, 1953, in Sturgis, Michigan, to the late Joseph and Vera (Franks) Carpenter. He was a proud graduate of Colon High School, Class of 1971.

On August 11, 1980, Roger married Ann L. Buchanan in Illinois. They shared many years together before Ann's passing on December 21, 2022.

Roger spent more than 50 years on the road as a dedicated truck driver—work he took great pride in throughout his life.

He is survived by his son, Sean Carpenter of Frederick, Maryland; his stepchildren, Cecilia Sleever and AJ (Jennifer) Sleever; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Nadine (Frankie) Finck of Illinois and Evelyn (Allen) Yoder of Shipshewana, Indiana; his sister-in-law, Bonnie Carpenter of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Carpenter.

Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at Locust Grove Mennonite Church on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 10:30 AM with Pastor Matt Yoder officiating. Private interment of ashes will take place In Locust Grove Cemetery.
