Monafae Eleanor Decker, born August 24, 1937, in Gary, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, in Hastings, Michigan. She was 88 years old.

Monafae’s life was defined by her deep love for her family and her enduring commitment to those she held dear. On September 3, 1955, she married Wayne Decker in Angola, Indiana, marking the beginning of a partnership that stood as a testament to devotion and companionship until Wayne’s passing.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Cindy (Bruce) Curtis and Chris Decker. Monafae’s legacy also lives on through her grandson Rick (Juli) Curtis, and her great-grandchildren, Holden and Brynli, each of whom brought great joy to her later years.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Decker; her brothers, Gordon, Wesley, and Jerry; and her parents, Joseph and Hellen Overstreet.

Monafae’s final years were marked by the compassionate care provided to her by the teams at Thornapple Manor and Clearstream Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hastings. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to these dedicated professionals for their exceptional attention over the years. Additional thanks go to Elara Caring Hospice for their support and care during her last days.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Monafae are invited to attend a graveside service in her honor. The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at South Colon Cemetery, located at 60471 South Burr Oak Road, Colon, Michigan.
