Lyman Wynn Micklatcher, age 87, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, hard work, and love for his family. Born on December 3, 1938, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Lyman grew up on Fine Lake in Hickory Corners alongside his three sisters. He graduated from Kellogg Consolidated High School in 1957.

In 1958, Lyman enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserve, choosing to serve his country with honor. He was honorably discharged on February 6, 1962.

On June 25, 1960, he married the love of his life, Chiquita Browne, at Calvary Evangelical Church. Together they built a Christ-centered home and shared a devoted marriage that spanned decades. They began their life together in Battle Creek, Michigan, where Lyman worked for Clark Equipment Company for 28½ years until the plant closed. They welcomed two sons, Kraig in 1966 and Mark in 1969, before moving to the farm in Hastings in 1971.

Lyman faithfully attended Cedar Creek Bible Church and later Milo Bible Church, where he served in many capacities, including song leader, over the years. In 1996, he and Chiquita moved to Smyrna, Tennessee, where he worked in maintenance for Ingram Publishers until his retirement. They became active members of Westwood Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, where Lyman made lasting friendships and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family.

His faith was the foundation of his life. He led his family with gentleness and unwavering devotion, making sure his sons knew the love and truth of Jesus Christ from an early age. Those who knew Lyman admired his thoughtful nature, practical wisdom, and remarkable work ethic.

Lyman found joy in the simple things: fishing, gardening, and always having a project underway. He was a talented car enthusiast who loved restoring, painting, and caring for automobiles, and he loved the opportunity to attend a car show. He also delighted in garage sales and had a gift for finding the next great bargain.

Lyman is now at rest alongside his parents, Orrin and Gwendoline Micklatcher, his sister Marcella Valentine, his sister Jahnita Lucas and his grandson Benjamin Micklatcher.

He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Chiquita; his sons, Kraig (& Jenni ) Micklatcher and Mark (& Cindy) Micklatcher; his sister Annella (& Ed) Rocha; his grandchildren Kaleb (& Rachael) Micklatcher, BreAnn Micklatcher, Nathan Micklatcher, Trey Micklatcher, Cole Micklatcher, and Finn Micklatcher and many extended family members, friends, and fellow church members whose lives were enriched by his kindness and faithful example.

More than anything, Lyman will be remembered as a man of steadfast faith, loving leadership, and quiet service—a husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life pointed others to Christ.
