Jack Edward Muckel, 75, of Colon, Michigan, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Jack was born on February 9, 1951, in Hicksville, Ohio, to Edward and Verna Muckel. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, a part of his life and legacy that remained important to him throughout the years. In June of 1988, Jack married Annette Muckel (Scherer), with whom he shared nearly four decades of marriage, family, and memories. Throughout his working years, Jack worked in construction and maintenance. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed working with his hands and providing for those he loved. Jack was happiest outdoors. He had a lifelong love of hunting, fishing, and camping, with bass fishing holding a particularly special place in his heart. Some of his favorite memories were made spending time with his wife, Annette, on the lake and enjoying camping trips together. As much as he loved the outdoors, nothing was more important to Jack than his family. He treasured time spent with his children and especially his grandchildren, whose lives brought him tremendous pride and joy. Jack is survived by his wife, Annette Muckel; his children, Sonia (Justin) Webb, Amy Muckel, Candace (Andy) Schroeder, Matthew Clipfell, and Danial (Annie) Muckel; and his grandchildren, Nicole, Abbie, Joe, Jacob, Eric, Jadyn, Andrew, Kiersten, Kylynn, Emmah, Owen, Oliver, Jackson, and Brinley. He also leaves behind several great-grandchildren who will carry his memory forward. He is also survived by his siblings, Lynn Muckel, Sandra (Randy) Jackson, Tom (Diane) Muckel, and Don (Rhonda) Muckel. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Verna Muckel, sister-in-law Ronnie (Lynn) Muckel and nephew Tim Muckel. Jack will be remembered as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, veteran, outdoorsman, and friend. His memory will live on through the family he loved the stories they share, and the many days spent together on the water, in the woods, and around family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 454 in Jack’s honor.
