Gerald H. Oldenberg age 82 of Colon passed away at his home on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
Gerald was born on October 26, 1940, in Sturgis, Michigan, a son to the late William J. and Helmine M. (Broker) Oldenberg.
Gerald attended and graduated from Colon High School with the class of 1959.
Gerald was first married to Diane Hughes. She preceded him in death in 1997. Gerald then married Donna Porter on August 23, 1998 at the Colon Baptist Church.
Gerald worked for Burr Oak Tool INC. for 39 years until his retirement. Gerald and his wife Donna are members of the Colon Baptist Church.
Surviving Gerald today is his wife Donna Oldenberg of Colon, children: Jerriane (Wendell) Gruner of Colon, Stacy (Kristin) Oldenberg of Grand Rapids, and Gretchen (Sean) Stouder of Colon, step children: Joseph Howard of Colon, and Laura Jacobs of Colon, siblings: Alan (Georgia) Oldenberg, Raymond (Linda) Oldenberg, and Kathy (Deo) Grigsby, grandchildren: Kyleigh (Jason) Ely, McKenzie (James) Saylor, Hannah Nathanael, Chloe, Elizabeth, Caleb, Phoebe, and Naomi Oldenberg, Spencer (Faith) Minor, Abby (Alex) Wells, Gretta (Shawn Arnett Jr.) Minor, Peighton Stouder, and Haley Stouder, step grandchildren: Joshua (Jessi) Howard, Kayla Howard, Jaden Howard, Addison Howard, Alyssa (Jay) Jacobs, Heather (Chris) Jacobs, and Jessica (Calvin) Pulley, 14 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents William and Helmine Oldenberg, Gerald was preceded in death by his first wife Diane Oldenberg, and his sister Esther Vanvorst.
Following in his wish's cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at the Colon Baptist Church. Memorial donations can also be directed to the Colon Baptist Church in Gerald's memory.
