Esther K. Hacker age 99 of Athens passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022, at Birches AFC in Leonidas.
Esther was born on October 17, 1922, in Factoryville, MI, a daughter to the late Peter and Elsie (Hope) Landfair.
Esther graduated from Athens High School with the class of 1939.
In April of 1941 Esther married William Hacker in Angola, Indiana.
As a teen Esther worked at Kings Mill in Leonidas. After raising a family, she worked for Consumers, Mendon Research Molding, and Kellogg Arena selling tickets and working in the kitchen. Throughout all her endeavors Esther worked until she was unable on the family farm in Athens.
Esther loved quilting, needlework, and music. She square danced, played piano and organ, and always grew a large garden.
Esther is survived by her son Ron (Ruth) Hacker of Athens, son in law Douglas Belson of Osseo, grandchildren: Tim (Sheri) Belson of Reading, Richard (Denese) Belson of Pittsford, Chris Belson of Kalamazoo, Lee Ann (Joseph) Condon of Colon, and Mark (Monica) Hacker of Athens, 6 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
Besides her parents Esther was preceded in death by her husband William Hacker, a daughter Charlene Belson, 1 great grandchild, and 7 siblings: Roscoe Landfair, Lorrain Carr, Harold Landfair, Lyle Landfair, Alison Carr, Doris Homan, William Landfair.
The Hacker family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon from 9-11 AM. A funeral service celebrating Esther's life will be held at 11 AM following the visitation with Pastor Curt Bennett. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Birches AFC. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Memories can be shared at Schipperfuneralhome.com
