Douglas D. Thaxton age 68 of Colon, passed away Thursday August 4, 2022, at The Laurels of Coldwater.
On August 19, 1953, Douglas was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee, a son of the late Charles and Ramona (Davis) Thaxton.
Douglas graduated from Colon High School with the class of 1973.
Surviving Douglas today are his siblings: Debra (David) O'Connell of Sturgis, James (Ann) Thaxton of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Jeff (Pam) Thaxton of Colon, Lisa (Larry) Schwartz of Kalamazoo, Aunt Sara Jean Thaxton, and many nieces and nephews.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ramona Thaxton.
Following in his wish's cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Douglas will be held at the Colon United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 13, 2022. Visiting hours will begin at 2 PM and at 3 PM a service will be held with Pastor David Elmore officiating. A private interment of ashes will take place following the service in Matteson Township Cemetery. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family at Schipperfuneralhome.com
