Doris E. Anderson of Battle Creek

and formerly of Coldwater, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.

Doris was born on March 23, 1937, in Colon, a daughter to the late Emmon and Fern (Tefft) Hackenburg. Doris was a graduate of Colon High School as a member of the class of 1954. She then attended 1 year at Wright Beauty Academy in Battle Creek. She lived in Colon for several years and eventually moved to Coldwater, and then eventually to Battle Creek.

In December of 1968, Doris married her husband of 53 years William A. Anderson in Jackson, Michigan. William preceded Doris in death on August 24, 2022.

Doris enjoyed traveling and spending time in her garden.

Surviving Doris are her children: Cheryl (Thomas) Rose of Kalamazoo,, and Brian (Laura) Avery of Indianapolis, 6 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, two brothers: Carl (Linda) Hackenburg of Kalamazoo, and John (Jean) Hackenburg of Windsor, CA.

Besides her parents Emmon and Fern Hackenburg, Doris was preceded in death by her husband William A. Anderson.

Following in her wish's cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will take place in South Colon Cemetery at a later date.
