Diana Lee Mumby age 81 of Colon, passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Diana was born on June 29, 1943, in Jackson, Michigan, a daughter to the late Don and Margaret (Glosser) Hankis. Diana attended and graduated from Jackson High School as a member of the class of 1961. She then attended St. Lawrence Nursing School to become a Registered Nurse. She graduated in 1964.

On September 12, 1964, Diana married her husband of 53 years, Barry A. Mumby in Jackson, Michigan. Barry preceded Diana in death on October 17, 2017.

In her free time Diana enjoyed sewing, quilting and reading. She was a very talented cake decorator, and an avid scrap booker. Diana served for many years a Co 4-H Leader of the Leonidas Do It Best 4-H group. She was also a member of the Mendon Eastern Star.

Surviving Diana are her 3 children: David (Deanna) Mumby of Leonidas, Sean (Amy) Mumby of Fulton and Kathryn Sprouse of Las Vegas, Nevada, 5 grandchildren: Nathan, Danielle, Elizabeth, Abigayle, and Amalia, one great granddaughter Bayleigh, 2 brothers: Joe and Dan Hankis, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents Don and Margaret Hankis, Diana was preceded in death by her husband Barry A. Mumby.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Beard Cemetery in Leonidas Township, Michigan at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the graveside.
