Obituary

Carol J. Baker age 69 of Colon passed away at her home on Friday, May 24, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Carol was born in Decatur, Indiana on October 28, 1954, a daughter to the late Melvin and Caroline (Schwartz) Schwartz. Carol moved to Sarasota, Florida in 1959, to Mendon in 1962, and then eventually settled in Colon in 1966. She was a graduate of Colon High School with the class of 1972.

On November 14, 1971, Carol married her husband of 47 years Timothy W. Baker, in Colon, Michigan. Timothy preceded Carol on January 24, 2019.

Blue was Carol's favorite color, and picking on Tim was her favorite past time. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, crime movies, her hummingbirds, riding the road wither dog in the golf cart, camping and vacations, but above all she lived to spoil her grandchildren.

Surviving Carol today are her two daughters: Judy C. (Dave Lafontaine) Baker of Colon, and Tracy M. (James) Coker of Sturgis, eight grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren, siblings: twin sister Cherly Crippin, of Three Rivers, Brenda Wickey of Sturgis, Ron (Irit) Schwartz of Dallas, TX, Lenny (Connie Campbell) Schwartz of Colon, Valerie (John) McCartney of Colon, Kip (Linda) Scwartz of Colon, sister-in-law Sharon Schwartz of Three Rivers, and many Nieces and Nephews.

Besides her parents Melvin and Caroline Schwartz, and her husband Timothy W. Baker, Carol preceded in death by her brother Ed Schwartz, and brother in laws: Stan Crippin and Michael Wickey.

Following in her wish's cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation held on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 1-3PM at the New Beginnings Church. A celebration of life will begin following the visitation at 3:00 PM with Pastor Randy Evans officiating. Private interment of ashes will take place at a later date in Leonidas Cemetery.
