Obituary

Bruce A. Johnson Sr., 70, passed away on October 1, 2026. Born on February 25, 1956, he lived a life centered on family, steady work, and lasting connections with those who knew and loved him.

Bruce was a graduate of Burr Oak High School, Class of 1976. He devoted much of his working life to Campbell’s Mushroom farm, where he worked for 25 years, and he also worked in maintenance at Conagra Brands. His years of service reflected a strong work ethic and a dependable spirit.

Above all, Bruce will be remembered as a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife, Lorena Johnson. He also leaves his children, Bruce Johnson Jr., Bobby Johnson, Kayla West and her husband Chad, Geraldine Villanueva, Alexis Villanueva, and Stiffany Villanueva. His family was further blessed by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, each of whom added joy to his life.

Bruce is also survived by his siblings, Alan Johnson and his wife Jane, Stephen Johnson, Roy Johnson and his wife Cheryl, Robert Johnson, and Sue Johnson. He shared with them a lifetime of family bonds that will continue to be cherished by those who remain.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Johnson; his mother, Janice Johnson; his sons, Chip Johnson and Billy Johnson, his sister, Judy Krontz; and sister-in-law Lou Ann Johnson. Their memories remained an important part of his life and story.

Family and friends will be received for visitation on October 9, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Schipper Funeral Home Ltd, 308 S Blackstone Ave, Colon, MI 49040. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bruce A. Johnson will be remembered with love and gratitude for the life he shared, the work he gave, and the family he held close. His memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
