Barbara Ann Dillon age 80 of Schoolcraft, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Rose Arbor Place in Kalamazoo.Barb was born on April 26, 1943, in Goshen, Indiana, a daughter to the late Lloyd and Marie (Burkholder) Holderman. Barb was a graduate of Colon High School with the class of 1961.Barbara had an unwavering faith in God. She was a longtime member of Lake Center Bible Church and most recently Texas Corners Bible Church. Over the years she served as a deaconess and volunteered in the church nursery, as a Sunday School teacher, as a greeter, and in the kitchen for church functions and funeral luncheons.There was nothing Barbara enjoyed more than spending time with her grandchildren. She spent countless hours at sporting events cheering them on from the stands. As her grandchildren grew, Barbara continued to support them in all their endeavors, including several college graduations, weddings, new business endeavors, moving into new homes, and much more. Whatever the event was, Barbara was there to offer a hand or to cheer them on.Barbara's family could always count on her to provide them with homemade jam, zucchini bread, and other delicious homemade items. She never showed up to a party or gathering empty handed. Barbara also loved to bake and decorate cakes for her grandchildren's birthday parties.Barbara worked in the dental field for over 40 years. She started as a chairside assistant after getting her radiology certificate. She retired from Kalamazoo Endodontics as the office manager after working there for over 30 years.Barbara enjoyed reading, biking and traveling. She especially enjoyed her trips to Hawaii, Alaska, and the several cruises she took with her work family.Surviving Barb today are her daughters: Judith (Dan) Klok of Vicksburg, and Teresa (Jonathan) Scott of Schoolcraft, grandchildren: Tyler (Jessica) Carpenter, Allyson Carpenter, Kyle (Keili) Scott, Jeffrey Scott, Emma (Skyler) Perry, and Megan Scott, great grandchildren: Deken Carpenter, McKenna Carpenter, Grayson Scott, and Jettson Perry, siblings: Mary Kline, Lloyd Holderman, Debbie Holderman, Patti Howland, Albert Holderman, Brian Holderman, and Michael Holderman.Barb was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Marie Holderman.Following in her wish's cremation has taken place. A memorial service to honor Barbara's life will be held on Friday, January 26th at Texas Corners Bible Church, located at 7780 South 8th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49008. A visitation will be held at 10:00am with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am. Luncheon to follow.
